Definition of a Tongue Scraper
A tongue scraper is an oral hygiene tool designed to clean the micro-organisms, food, and dead cells from the top of the tongue. The micro-organisms that grow on the tongue are responsible for common gum, teeth, and general health problems. Decaying microbes also produce compounds on the rear most part of tongue that are responsible for bad breath.

These microorganisms are responsible for plaque on the teeth, which lead to tooth decay, gum infections and bone loss, and can result in tooth loss.
